Goliat Development Project

Electrification - Onshore Component

Goliat is located 85 kilometers northwest of Hammerfest, and is the first oil field to be developed in the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea.

The licensees are Eni Norge AS (operator, 65%) and Statoil Petroleum AS (35%). The field is expected to be in production for at least 15 years.

The electrification of the Goliat FPSO will be based on electricity supplied from shore from the regional grid in Hammerfest via a 90-132 kV subsea power cable rated for minimum 60 MW, combined with a gas turbine-driven generator on the Goliat FPSO. Electrification from shore is planned to be completed by Q4 2013 at Goliat FPSO start up.
